Glasgow activities have started!

By Sarah Bell

The ‘Sensing Climate’ team is excited to be in Glasgow in 2025!

We are exploring how to ensure that responses to climate change can help to build fairer communities that take into account the priorities of people who are disabled, d/Deaf, neurodivergent and people with long-term health conditions.

We have started our activities in Glasgow with three ‘lunch and chat’ events, organised with Glasgow Disability Alliance. During the events, we have covered lots of different topics, from nature and disability, to housing, energy, transport and emergency preparedness. We stepped into a future where the needs, priorities and skills of disabled people have been listened to, and imagined the changes made to reach that future.

We’re now building on those events with a range of activities that are open to adults in Glasgow who are disabled, d/Deaf or neurodivergent, and people with lived experience of a long-term health condition.

Other opportunities to take part

There are lots of ways of taking part! You could share your ideas and experiences in:

  • An interview with Sarah, which may be in person, on the phone or online, depending on what you would like.

  • One or more creative writing workshops with Tanvi and Sarah. Two of these will be online (from July to September) and one will be in person (in October). You can choose which to come along to. The first session will be on 4th July, from 12.30pm-2.30pm but don’t worry if that date doesn’t work for you – we can look at alternative dates too.

  • A big community mural with Rebecca and community mural artist, Andy Bolton. Many of the mural design sessions will be in person in the autumn and you can also feed in your ideas online.

You do not have to take part in all or any of these events but if you would like to find out more about any of them, or if you would like an initial chat about the project, it would be great to hear from you.

Expenses will be paid and access adjustments put in place to support people to take part safely and comfortably.

Please do get in touch. You can contact us:
